Timothy Belber

JD, AEP®

Adjunct Professor of Estate Planning
Charles E. Drimal Estate Planning Professorship

Tim Belber is adjunct professor of Estate Planning at The American College of Financial Services. Belber followed a challenging path to reach his unique approach to family wealth. Growing up in a family with limited resources, he learned the meaning of true gratitude and developed a lifelong determination to make the most of himself and what he had. He remains dedicated to helping self-made families align the power of their intangible assets with the practical application of financial, tax, and legal strategies.

Belber cultivated leadership, planning, and execution skills in his six years at the Marine Military Academy — the same environment that taught him never to make excuses and always to be prepared.

A sought-after speaker and advocate for incorporating ethics and values into financial and estate plans, Belber has authored books and numerous articles. He also has been quoted in periodicals, including the Wall Street Journal, and is a member of the Legacy Wealth Coach Network, a founding member of the Collaboration for Family Flourishing, and a dean for the Purposeful Planning Institute.

Fueled by curiosity and many passions, Belber speaks passable Italian, is an avid photographer, fisherman, and cyclist, and loves to read and travel. Along with his wife of 40 years, Donna, he has been a friend and guardian of numerous dogs.

Belber holds the Charles E. Drimal Estate Planning Professorship. The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company established the professorship in 2000 to honor the late Charles E. Drimal, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, a revered Penn Mutual general agent who provided inspiration, motivation, and guidance to many who considered him a financial services’ profession role model. The professorship pays tribute to Charles Drimal while also showing a strong commitment to The American College of Financial Services and its mission for applied knowledge and ethical standards to benefit society.
