Throughout her career, Heather Welsh, CFP®, AEP®, MSFS has been motivated by a single ambition – to make wealth planning accessible, relevant, and personalized to each individual and family she serves. After graduating summa cum laude from Mercyhurst University with a B.S. in business and a B.A. in Dance, she pursued her master’s in financial services at The American College of Financial Services.

As a vice president and the wealth planning department leader at Sequoia Financial Group, Welsh determines strategic direction for the planning solutions created for clients and oversees the management and career development of Sequoia’s wealth planning team. She collaborates with the firm’s advisors and external partners to help clients achieve their wealth planning goals and objectives.

Welsh’s deep commitment to financial planning extends beyond Sequoia’s clients to the wider industry and the craft itself. She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland and was selected to participate in the Ensemble Practice’s G2 Leadership Institute. She served as the president (2022-2023) for the Cleveland-Akron Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and facilitates monthly Planning Forum calls for HIFON (High Impact Financial Operations Network). Welsh is passionate about supporting the next generation of professionals serving as a mentor, women’s initiative advocate, and past “Ask the Expert '' panelist through the CFP Board and volunteering in the classroom through Junior Achievement. Her impact has been broadly recognized, she received the Greater Akron Chamber’s 30 for the Future award and was the recipient of the Women Working in Wealth Award by The American College in 2022.
