CFP® Certification Requirements Are Changing:
Time is running out to complete the program under current rules
CFP Board has recently announced changes to their national exam and educational program requirements. There are only four test dates remaining prior to both changes, which means students may want to take prompt action to start or complete the program.
As even the most accelerated educational programs still generally require 7 – 9 months to finish, students have little time left to make their program decisions.
In conjunction with the examination changes, a new required course is being added for all CFP® certification students who have not started their educational program by the end of 2011. Even students who have started their program by that date will need to take the revised examination beginning in 2012 covering new material. Any "challenger" to the exam, including ChFC® designees, will be required to take the new course before sitting for CFP Board's national exam beginning in 2012.
