Henry A. Deppe Lecture Series
Created in 1989, this lecture series is named for Henry A. Deppe, CLU®, a former general agent of Guardian Life Insurance Company. Mr. Deppe has dedicated his career to pension and retirement plans and is a nationally known authority on the subject. This lecture series bearing his name is devoted to pensions and retirement security issues.
The series is supported by earnings from an endowment fund established at The College by Mr. Deppe's friends and associates, as well as the Guardian Life Insurance Company. The endowment fund will continue to increase in the future from the proceeds of a life insurance policy of which The College is beneficiary. This fund will make possible the establishment of a chair at The American College for research and teaching in pensions and retirement security.
Henry A. Deppe, CLU®, presented the first lecture in the series on life insurance in qualified retirement plans in 1989. Subsequent presenters have included Attorney Andrew J. Fair, a nationally known expert on pensions, business planning, and estate planning; Bruce J. Temkin, a nationally recognized authority on the design of qualified retirement plans and retirement planning; Joyce Gordon of Guardian Life Insurance Company; and numerous other presenters and panelists prominent in the estate and financial planning fields.
