The American College wins Blackboard's Catalyst Award
CFP® certification program now available for iPad
Students preparing for their CLU®, ChFC®, CFP® Certification, or other programs all have access to award-winning online resources that “push the boundaries of educational programs and technology,” according to the judges of the annual Blackboard Catalyst Awards held in July.
The entire CFP® certification program is now formatted for iPads and iPhones, with complete video classes, both e-books and hard-copy textbooks, and extensive review materials. These resources help provide a 30% better chance of passing CFP Board’s exam; as compared with the average pass rates of other providers.
The award-winning program was an extensively redesigned Investments course (HS 328) that has been upgraded with the addition of over 120 pieces of multimedia content.

New Program: Certificate in Paraplanner Development
The American College has just released this exceptional new program designed to teach the planning process and meet the practical needs of paraplanners.
Program certificants will learn:
- Components of a comprehensive financial plan
- Insurance, employee benefits, income taxes, investments, retirement, and estate planning basics
- Social Security and Medicare
- Steps in the planning process
- Communications, client relations, and marketing skills
- Fact finding, plan development, and plan presentation
- Time value of money, risk tolerance, asset allocation, planning applications
Textbooks + online tools = maximum flexibility.
Students in this program will receive, textbooks, online access to study resources and practice questions. When students are ready, they will take two exams — one halfway through the program, and one at the end.
