Doctorate in Financial Services and Retirement

Thanks to a generous endowment from New York Life, The American College is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest program, the PhD in Financial Services and Retirement Planning. A degree unlike any other, The College is bringing this program to you in time for the 2013 academic year.

Doctoral students will complete a rich curriculum, taught by leading experts
in the fields of:

  • Statistical Analysis
  • Research Methods
  • Pensions
  • Financial Asset Distribution
  • Retirement and Aging
  • Econometrics, and more

This program is designed to take financial services professionals past the practice and into the theory and research behind the financial decision-making process. Students will contribute original research to the financial services industry and advance the prevailing level of public financial literacy. This program is the natural next step for teaching faculty, actuaries, bankers, financial planners, insurance agents, economists, and anyone else involved in the industry who wants to advance his or her career to the next level.

Download the application — the College is now accepting applications, and will be making a final decision regarding the composition of the first class no later than early January 2013. The first cohort will consist of approximately 23 students.
