New Health Care Designation Launches in 2011
Knowing the details of the new healthcare reform law is critical for advisors targeting both individual and corporate clients. The College has hired additional faculty, including Assistant Professor of Health Insurance Arthur B. Tacchino, J.D., and is preparing a comprehensive new course -- "Essentials of Healthcare Reform" -- for release in January, 2011. Later in 2011 advisors can earn a new healthcare designation drawing on the most current knowledge available, supported by our existing RHU® and REBC® credentials.

October is LUTC month: Largest Selection of Online Courses Ever!
Local NAIFA associations and The College are offering an extensive array of LUTC courses starting in October. Students taking these skills-based courses have reported production increases of up to 40% while still in the class! This month students can take live, online webinar courses in:

Regulatory Update: Where The Fiduciary Issue Stands
Two different government agencies -- the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Government Accountability Office -- are both conducting studies mandated by the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill reviewing standards of care for financial advisors. The SEC held a period of public comment on the issue that ended in August and generated thousands of responses from advocacy groups, educators, practicing advisors, and others.

Intensive Reviews: The Popular New Learning Model
Every student learns differently, and The College is committed to creating new educational models that can help professional students in their ongoing development.
"We've found that students pursuing self-study courses may benefit from an intensive period of classroom review after they've completed their reading and initial studying," said Associate Dean Allen McLellan, CASL®, ChFC®, CLU®, LUTCF, CFP®. "While it's especially true of the most challenging material, some students use this model for many of the courses they take with us."
