State Farm Chair in Women and Financial Services
Professor Quist-Newins has the distinction of holding the State Farm Chair in Women & Financial Services at The American College - the first and only endowed academic chair in the country devoted exclusively to the study of women and financial services issues. In this role, she works to increase The College's understanding of women's financially related expectations, attitudes, and actions.
During her twenty years in financial services, Mary has succeeded as both a field producer and a corporate leader. Treasury & Risk recently named her to the magazine's elite list of "25 Outstanding Leaders in Finance Who Happen to be Women".
Prior to joining The College, she was a Senior Financial Consultant and Regional Management Associate with Thrivent Financial. In this role, Mary was responsible for recruiting and training new associates, as well as a client base of over 2,400 households and more than $75 million in assets under management. While at Thrivent, she consistently performed among the top 10% of producers and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table every year.
Professor Quist-Newins' industry background also includes positions as a Region Vice President with ING and Director of Field Marketing at American Express.
In addition to holding an MBA, she has earned the Certified Financial Planner®, Chartered Life Underwriter®, and Chartered Financial Consultant® advanced designations.
