Founder of Newman Long Term Care

The LIFE Foundation has named Debra C. Newman, CLU, ChFC, LTCP, of Minneapolis, Minn., as chair of the board of directors, replacing Michael L. Weintraub of Walnut Creek, Calif. who remains on LIFE’s executive committee as immediate past chair. Stephen O. Rothschild, CLU, ChFC, CRC, RFC, serves as chair-elect. Newman continues her tradition of being a pioneer in the insurance industry by becoming the first woman elected to serve as the chair of the insurance non-profit agency.
Newman is the founder of Newman Long Term Care, one of the largest long term care insurance agencies in the country, and a recognized expert on long term care issues. Recognized nationally in 2007 as one of the top 10 on the Power List of Who’s Who in Long Term Care Insurance, Newman was also named a 2009 Five Star Wealth Manager by Twin Cities Business and Minneapolis-St. Paul magazines and in 2009 was acknowledged by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as one of the top 25 Women in Business.
In addition to serving on LIFE’s board, Newman has also has served as past president of the Association of Health Insurance Advisors and the Minneapolis chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). She is also currently the President Elect of NAIFA Minnesota.
