For LUTCF/FSS Courses-
Courses Conclude With a Classroom or Online Exam
When registering for LUTCF or FSS courses, you have the option to complete your course in the traditional classroom environment or the option to complete your course online, through The College's
Online Training Center (OTC). (With the exception of FA 290, which is a self-study course.) LUTCF and FSS courses run for 8 weeks and conclude with the final exam.
Classroom Exams
If you are taking your course in the classroom, your class will meet for 8 weeks for 2 and 1/2 hour sessions. The class then meets (typically during the week after classes are completed) to take the final examination. Exams are typically 50 multiple choice questions and are administered by the Moderator (or a substitute exam proctor) during the 9th week of class. Your final exams are then submitted to The College by your course moderator. Final grade reports will be mailed to you in approximately 3 weeks.
Online Training Center Exams (OTC Courses)
If you are taking an OTC course, all assignments are submitted online, and all exams are taken online through The Online Learning Center. To be eligible to take the final exam, you must pass 7 out of 8 of the weekly classes and register a final exam proctor by the 6th week of class. The directions for registering an exam proctor can be found online in
The Online Learning Center, under the "Register Your Proctor" link. Exam proctors can also be registered online through your Student Account, or by contacting a Professional Education counselor. Student and Proctor Final Exam eligibility emails will be sent on the Friday prior to the beginning of the Final Exam Testing Period. There is a one week period between the final class (Class 8) due date and the beginning of your course's 14 day testing period. The specific dates for the testing period will be posted within the "Take the Final Exam" link inside your course.
FA 290, Ethics for the Financial Professional
FA 290, Ethics for the Financial Professional, is a
self study course, with your final exam taken through The Online Learning Center. After your registration for FA 290, you will have access to The Online Learning Center where you are able to:
- Review the online course materials.
- Access directions to register the proctor for your exam.
- Gain access to the online final exam (students licensed in New York take paper examinations).
Within 2 business days of registering the exam proctor, both you and your proctor receive exam eligibility e-mails signifying the exam has been set up and is accessible through the "Take the Final Exam" link within The Online Learning Center. Once the exam e-mails have been received, meet with the proctor at any location with Internet access and take the exam.
You have 6 months from the date of your course registration to take your final exam. If you do not complete your final exam during this 6-month time frame, you have an additional 3 months in which to reschedule the exam date for a fee of
$65.00. Students who do not pass the final exam on their first attempt may schedule an exam retake for a fee of
$65.00.
Students may retake the FA 290 exam one time. If a student does not pass the exam retake or does not take the exam within 9 months of registering for the course, an additional full-fee registration is required.

When you register for a Huebner School or Graduate School course, you are required to select an exam quarter. The exam quarter you select is your 3-month window in which your final exam is to be completed. You must schedule and take your exam at any time during your 3-month window. Select an exam period that ensures you have adequate time to study for the test. Please contact Professional Education at 888-263-7265 if you are unable to test during your chosen testing quarter, as there are additional fees for rescheduling.
After your course registration is completed, The College will e-mail you an EOD
