Edward E. Graves, MA, CLU®, ChFC®, is an associate professor of insurance and the holder of the Charles J. Zimmerman Chair in Life Insurance at The American College. Professor Graves is responsible for developing and updating the College's courses in life insurance for the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation programs, and for teaching classes and seminars on the subject.
Professor Graves has edited/co-authored two of the College's textbooks, McGill's Life Insurance and McGill's Legal Aspects of Life Insurance, and has had articles published in such publications as the Journal of the American Society of CLU® & ChFC®, Journal of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and Benefits Quarterly. A noted speaker on life insurance products and regulation topics, he has been quoted extensively in leading trade and business publications, and has served frequently as an expert witness in insurance litigation.
A graduate of California State University at Los Angeles, Professor Graves earned his master's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He received his CLU® designation from The American College in 1978, and his ChFC® designation from the College in 1983. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
