The American College of Financial Services’ President and CEO George Nichols III is no stranger to firsts, especially when blazing new trails for Black professionals. Prior to joining The College, he was the first Black professional to join New York Life’s Executive Management Committee. He also served as the State of Kentucky’s first Black insurance commissioner and was the first Black president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Now, Nichols is the first president of The College to be selected to Savoy Magazine’s list of the Most Influential Black Corporate Directors—though it’s not the first time he’s been honored by this prestigious publication.

Nichols has made Savoy's listing three times: twice before he came to The College in 2012 and 2018 and again in 2021. Savoy, a leading publication for business and lifestyle in the Black community, includes Nichols on its listing of over 700 Black leaders of major companies and economic powerhouses like American Express, Merck, Boeing, MasterCard, IBM, and more.
