About

James S. Gulezian is Adjunct Professor of Leadership at The American College of Financial Services. He also is an Adjunct Professor with Goldey-Beacom College, Cabrini College, and Corporate College Services, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in leadership, business management, and human resources. He also provides HR consulting services to a variety of corporate clients. As a strategic human resources leader whose passion is organizational effectiveness, Gulezian has contributed to areas that include business-to-business publications, aerospace/aircraft, data communications systems, defense electronics, commercial business forms printing, and military/commercial aircraft systems sectors.

Gulezian directed his business acumen and organizational diagnostic and assessment skills toward eliminating wasteful, non-value-added processes, while incorporating technology-based solutions to minimize cost and time spent in carrying out administrative tasks. His first HR generalist role was that of a site HR manager for a defense electronics company where he successfully transformed under-performing HR functions that were disengaged from the DNA of the business, integrating them into the strategic, tactical, and operational elements of the enterprise.

Gulezian developed a Human Capital ROI framework built on key competency and carefully calibrated proficiency levels, performance metrics, and SMART goals. He also developed and implemented succession planning programs, company-wide safety and health programs, comprehensive training and development initiatives, major recruitment endeavors, and company-wide process improvement programs. Through the design of bonus and deferred compensation plans, he enabled the alignment of financial rewards with the achievement of individual and group results at all levels of the enterprise.

Gulezian is an invited speaker at SHRM and other HR venues in the greater Philadelphia area. He also actively mentors HR professionals at every stage of career development and transition endeavors. In recognition of his overall efforts and years of dedication to the Human Resources profession, Mr. Gulezian was selected as the 2011 HR Person of the Year for Mid-Sized Companies by SHRM chapters in the Southeastern Tri-State area (PA/NJ/DEL).

Gulezian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Villanova University. He obtained his Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR®) and is a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP™). He earned his MBA from Goldey-Beacom College in 2014.
