The Wealth Management Certified Professional® (WMCP®) Scholarship for the Advancement of Women in Financial Services is an unparalleled educational experience focused on transforming the way you approach wealth management through applied knowledge from core specialized content areas including building efficient investment portfolios, evaluating financial instruments, understanding complex planning strategies, and more. The full scholarship program is valued at $2,900. 

The scholarship includes a mentoring program sponsored by Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS), as well as a complimentary WIFS membership provided by the scholarship’s lead sponsor Ameritas. 

Women in Financial Services

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Must enroll in the Wealth Management Certified Professional® (WMCP®) designation program  
  • Students must identify as female/women 
  • Work in the financial services industry 
  • Employees of Ameritas are not eligible 
  • Applicants cannot be a current WMCP® student of The American College of Financial Services or have already been awarded a scholarship to The College 
  • Only one full program scholarship per applicant will be awarded 

Student Cohorts

The scholarship program is structured into cohorts of up to eight students to support New to the Industry Advisors (less than 7 years of experience), Established in the Industry Advisors (7 to 15 years of experience), and Legacy Advisors (15+ years of experience or executive-level). In 2022, three cohorts of up to eight students will be formed. 


Program Mentors

Board members and committee members of Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS) will serve as mentors to the student cohorts, as well as the leadership from The American College Center for Women in Financial Services.

 

 


WIFS Membership

Scholarship recipients will receive a complementary WIFS membership, provided by Ameritas.


Scholarship Application

The scholarship application window is open from June 15, 2022, with the End Date of July 15, 2022. Applications will be reviewed and approved by The College through July 2022. The cohort will start in August of 2022.
