Taking Exams

Scheduling and taking course exams is simple.

Self Study
Your testing window will now begin on the day that you enroll, and you will have the rest of the current month plus the next four months to take your exam.

For example, if you enroll in May, you will have May, June, July, August, and September to take your exam.

WMCP Program
The WMCPdesignation is an exception to the above rule. The WMCP Program Window will begin on the day that you enroll in the WMCP program, and you will have the rest of the current month plus the next twelve months to complete the course requirements and pass the exam. Course requirements must be successfully completed in order to trigger the final exam. Within the Program Window, students will be offered three (3) exam attempts at no additional cost (any free attempts remaining expire with the program window).

Intensive Review Programs
Your exam will be administered on the last day of class. If you do not take your exam in class, or if you do not pass your in-class attempt at the exam, you will be automatically enrolled in a retake, free of charge, within seven days. Any subsequent retakes or reschedules will need to be purchased at current rates.

Webinars
Your testing window will start on the last day of your class. You will have four weeks from that date to take your exam. Classes being held before July 1 will not be affected by this change.

For example, if you enroll in May for a webinar being held from July 15 through September 2, you will have until September 30 to take your exam.

Exams are taken at your local Pearson VUE Testing Center. All you will need is one form of primary identification and a calculator.

Designation exams typically consist of 100 multiple choice questions. The WMCP exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions.

Schedule your exam early so that you can plan your studies accordingly. WMCP requires successful completion of the course work to schedule the exam.  Make sure that you are familiar with the testing center rules before you arrive.

You'll learn your exam results at the testing center. If you pass your exam, and if you’ve purchased package of courses, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the next course. If you are not successful in passing, you can purchase a Retake for the opportunity to take the exam again. If you do not take your test before your window runs out, you can purchase a Reschedule to open a new four- month testing window. The WMCP program offers students three (3) exam attempts within the Program Window. Program Window extensions are discussed in the Reschedule section below.

Final exams for all FA courses starting on or after January 1, 2014, must be taken through The College's proctored online examination process.  (Exception: NY students will take a proctored paper-and-pencil exam). Students must satisfy the attendance requirements and have a grade of at least 70 to be eligible to take the final exam. Guidelines for taking the exam and instructions for registering an exam proctor are located in Blackboard. Student and proctor exam eligibility emails are sent as soon as the student has met the exam eligibility requirements. Students have 4 weeks from the last class to take their exam.

If you need to retake an exam that you did not pass or you do not take your exam before your testing window closes, you will need to open a new testing window. Your new window will begin on the day of your purchase and end after the current month plus the next four months. Opening a new window requires the purchase of a Retake/Reschedule.

WMCP
Within the Program Window, students will be offered three (3) exam attempts at no additional cost (free attempts remaining expire with the program window). All additional exam attempts (no limit) within the window can be purchased at a cost of $250.

A Program Window Extension of five (5) months, beginning the day after the original window expires, can be activated for $400 and includes one (1) exam attempt; otherwise, course access will close and the exam will expire at the end of the Program Window. Students who fail to successfully complete all program requirements within a maximum of 18 consecutive months will lose access to the course materials and have to pay reduced program fee to re-enroll and start over. A Program Window Extension can be purchased in advance of the Program Window expiration, to begin at the end of the original Program Window.
