Ethics: Why Good People Do Bad Things?

Wednesday, May 6, 2020

Presented by The American College of Financial Services Alumni Association and sponsored by OneAmerica, this session focuses on what it means to be a moral and ethical professional, and why human beings are susceptible to violating social norms. This will include discussion on different types of biases, heuristics, and temptations. Examples of problems within the financial services industry that resulted in damages to clientele are introduced, along with explanations of why people take shortcuts in life—particularly in the financial services profession—that can result in problems for both advisors and clients.
