Daniel Hiebert is the financial planning program director and associate finance professor at Minnesota State University Mankato. He has taught the CFP® Exam Review Course nationally, in addition to business succession strategies and business valuation and financial statement analysis for The American College of Financial Services.

Hiebert is the co-author of “The Role of Financial Planners on African American Business Owners ‘Personal Credit and Access to Capital’”, which won the Montgomery-Warschauer Award from the Journal of Financial Planning as the paper of the year in 2023. Hiebert is the author of “Succession Simplified: A Primer on Transition Planning for Your Family Business”, an Amazon Category Best-Seller.

Hiebert earned his Master’s and Doctorate from The American College of Financial Services in Retirement and Financial Planning. His research subject area is family business succession planning, studying the relationship between entrepreneurs and personal financial planning.

Hiebert has spent over 25 years in the financial planning industry as a financial planning practitioner, various financial services leader positions, scholar, and educator in financial planning.
