Jose Perez

Adjunct Professor of Organizational Leadership & Human Resource Development

Jose Perez, EdD, MBA is an adjunct professor of organizational leadership & human resource development at The American College of Financial Services. He is also a certified SCORE mentor and independent business consultant specializing in licensing, regulation, and compliance within the hospitality industry in the state of Florida.

A manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Leadership Education (JOLE), he also has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of ethical leadership, global leadership, and the influence of culture on leadership.

Perez belongs to several professional associations and strongly believes in giving back to the community. He is a member of the International Leadership Association, The American Economic Association, and The Corporate Finance Institute. He is also a board member on his city’s civil service board and has served on several nonprofit boards.

Prior to transitioning to higher education and the private sector, Perez served as the Tampa district manager for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants, which is a state government regulatory agency responsible for regulating the hospitality industry within the state of Florida. In this capacity, he was responsible for the daily operations for a district that regulated over 15,000 public foodservice and public lodging establishments within a seven-county region in west central Florida. He is also a military veteran.

Perez received his associate’s degree from Glendale Community College, his Bachelor of Arts in business from Ottawa University, his Bachelor of Science in business with a minor in economics from the University of South Florida, and his MBA with a specialization in finance from Nova Southeastern University. He received his doctorate in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University and his post-doctoral certificate in global leadership from Colorado Technical University.
