Mary A. Houser, EdD, is an educational consultant at The American College of Financial Services, where she teaches special needs planning.

Dr. Houser has taught at Campbell University, Walden University, and was an associate professor of special education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has worked as a learning disabilities specialist, a special education classroom teacher, and a special education curriculum developer.

Dr. Houser has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and families with disabilities, including The Special Educator’s Guide to Assessment: A Comprehensive Summary by IDEA Disability Category.

She continues to present nationally and internationally on various special education topics and possesses a keen interest in collaborating with community members to enhance the quality of life for adolescents and young adults with disabilities.

Dr. Houser earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, her Master of Arts in Teaching for Special Education from The College of New Jersey, and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a Special Education Concentration from Fayetteville State University.
