Paul Wetmore

Assistant Professor

Paul Wetmore is an assistant professor at The American College of Financial Services, where he serves as an author-editor for several insurance designation programs. In addition to instructing and moderating numerous courses for The College, he writes and edits textbook material, course learning components, and classroom guides.

Wetmore has nearly four decades of financial services industry experience. Starting out as a financial advisor, he has held a variety of roles in the field including financial advisor, fee-based financial planner, sales office training director, sales office recruiting director, and roles in sales office management before moving into a regional training role for a leading insurer. He then transitioned to a home office role where he worked in the individual life insurance product development area for nearly two decades and was responsible for designing and implementing new life insurance products and riders including new term life, universal life, variable universal life, and whole life products.

Wetmore also created and implemented a national marketing organization for a major insurer consisting of a team of marketing directors supporting all their domestic individual business sales offices and career sales representatives across the U.S. in all areas of their marketing efforts.

Wetmore received his BA degree in economics from Saint Lawrence University, where he graduated cum laude, and his MBA from Clarkson University. He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Financial Services Certified Professional® (FSCP®), and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow® (LUTCF®) designations.
