Adjunct Professor of Insurance

Paul Wetmore MBA, LUTCF®, CLU®, FSCP® is an Adjunct Professor of insurance at The American College, where he serves as an author-editor for several insurance programs. In addition to moderating numerous courses, Paul writes and edits textbook material, course learning components, and moderator classroom guides.

Wetmore has over three decades of financial services industry experience. Starting as a financial advisor at MetLife in their Metropolitan Executive Training program, he has held various roles in the field, including Fee-Based Financial Planner, Sales Office Training Director, Sales Office Recruiting Director, and roles in Sales Office Management.

Wetmore then headed up the regional training program in MetLife’s Boston region. After transitioning to a role in MetLife’s New Jersey home office, he worked in life insurance product development for 17 years. He was responsible for designing and implementing new life insurance products and riders, including new term, universal, variable universal, and whole life products.

He also created and implemented a national marketing department consisting of a team of marketing directors supporting all of MetLife’s sales offices and career sales representatives across the country in all areas of their marketing efforts.

Wetmore received his BA degree in Economics from Saint Lawrence University and his MBA from Clarkson University. He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU® ), Financial Services Certified Professional® (FSCP® ), and Life Underwriter’s Training Council Fellow®  (LUTCF® ) designations.
