RICP®, TPCP®, WMCP®, ChSNC®, CLF®, RSSA®

FinServe Network Ambassador

Carolyn Humphrey, RICP®, TPCP®, WMCP®, ChSNC®, CLF®, RSSA®, is a seasoned financial advisor with a strong foundation in math and economics, and a passion for education and coaching. She specializes in turning retirement assets into sustainable income, integrating strategies for long-term care, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and tax efficiency. Carolyn empowers clients with clear, customized financial plans designed to build wealth, minimize risk, and provide lasting security.

Carolyn co-founded Empowered Financial Strategies after seeing the need for a more personal planning process. One that not only secures retirement but also protects the most vulnerable loved ones. EFS focuses on working with executive women and high net worth individuals, but the largest segment of the EFS client base is families with a child with disabilities or special needs.

Carolyn brings deep knowledge in retirement income, tax strategies, and long-term care planning, while her co-founder, Joanna, specializes in special needs planning, working closely with attorneys and support systems to ensure lasting care. Their mission is to help pre-retirees navigate the complexities of retirement and special needs planning with clarity — providing confidence that their needs are covered and their loved ones will always be cared for.

A Binghamton University graduate with a degree in Mathematics and a concentration in Computers and Statistics, Carolyn holds life and health licenses and multiple FINRA designations (Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65). She’s earned credentials from The American College including Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®), Tax Planning Certified Professional® (TPCP®), Wealth Management Certified Professional® (WMCP®), Chartered Special Needs Consultant® (ChSNC®), and Chartered Leadership Fellow® (CLF®), and serves on its Alumni Advisory Council. Her background also includes leadership experience as a national trainer. In this role, she has trained and managed teams of advisors.

Carolyn created a financial literacy program for teens and leads workshops on topics such as retirement income planning, estate planning, special needs planning, and financial empowerment for women. She supports nonprofits, youth programs, and animal rescues.

Outside the office, Carolyn enjoys traveling, gardening, entertaining, sports, outdoor adventures with her rescue dog, and spending time with her oversized family. She’s a dedicated wife, community-builder, and lifelong Buffalo Bills fan — still rooting for that Super Bowl win. #GoBills!
