In the 2015 James A. and Linda R. Mitchell Forum on Ethical Leadership, the American College Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics in Financial Services convened a group of financial services executives and leading academics to discuss ethical issues relevant to the industry today.
Specifically, the group tackled the issue of elder care and what duty advisors have to their elderly clients. A case study in which several children were potentially taking financial advantage of a parent with diminished decision-making capacity was prominently featured.
