Richard “Rick” Peck, CFP®, ChFC®, CAP®, IPA is an independent philanthropy advisor with Richard C. Peck Consulting, LLC, working with nonprofits, donors, potential donors, and professional advisors. He is also the founder of The Philanthropy Guy®, LLC, a leading-edge charitable giving resource hub. It features a bi-weekly podcast series broadcasting in nearly 20 countries around the globe, the Money to Give Podcast, and a bi-weekly newsletter for nonprofits, donors, and professional advisors. He is also the author of a book coming in late 2025 about the basics of nonprofit fundraising.
For six years, until May 2023, Peck led the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s philanthropy and donor services team, overseeing all aspects of development, donor engagement and donor services. Before that, he served Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College as director of individual giving and gift planning. He also served Dartmouth College as an associate director of gift planning.
Peck is a CFP® professional, a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) and a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), as well as a certified independent philanthropic advisor (IPA). He holds an MBA from Baker College in Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts.
Peck is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern New England (AFP-NNE), the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the NH & VT Council of Charitable Gift Planners, the NH Estate Planning Council, and the business networking group USA 500, where he hosts the only Nonprofit RoundTable. He is a former member of the community foundation-focused AdNet (Advancement Network) and the Amelia Group (VPs of Development of large community foundations across the U.S.), where he served as the Amelia Group’s organizer and moderator for almost two years. He is also a frequent speaker on the topic of philanthropy.
