Assistant Professor
Loren Flood serves as director of curriculum and an assistant professor at The American College of Financial Services. She began her tenure in 2021 in the Wealth Management Certified Professional® (WMCP®) Program and advanced to her current director of curriculum position in 2025, where she ensures program and course alignment with accreditation standards and industry needs. In addition, she teaches investment planning, financial counseling and therapy, and behavioral finance. She also serves as a copy editor for the Journal of Financial Therapy.
Flood is pursuing her PhD in personal financial planning at Texas Tech University (expected 2026 completion), building on her Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from The College, where she received a scholarship from the American College Center for Military and Veterans Affairs. She earned her BS in finance with a minor in economics from the University of North Florida and is a proud recipient of the FINRA Fellowship, through which she achieved the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) designation.
Flood’s research has explored speculative assets, health-related financial investments, buy now/pay later, and the relationship between grit, financial outcomes, and divorce. With extensive experience serving the military and veteran communities, her teaching and scholarship are grounded in real-world application.
